Mr Karimi Azar AmirReza will present his P.H.D thesis on " Design principles of Residential space to promote children's creativity" at 16:00 P.M on 9 June 2014 under the guidance of Dr.Feizi Mohsen, Dr.Hosseini Seyed Bagher.
Abstract:
Nowadays, variety of architecture topics and interdisciplinary fields of its researches need different research methods. To start a research project we have to select the methods compatible to the areas our subject related to. So, recognizing the subject and its related issue helps to select appropriate research methods. Selecting the method to find the design principle to promote the creativity in children 3 to 6 year old in Iran needs to know architecture and psychology areas. Specific methods of child study, limitations of the creative process and also interferences and different variables in areas of creativity, will demand descriptive research method (non-pilot). Descriptive study includes the ways that they describe the discussed conditions or phenomena. One of the methods of descriptive research is the survey research.
In this method of research in architecture, first of all, the sample is selected and then data collection by questionnaires or interviews is done. The next step is analyzing the most important variables affecting in the research. On the base of the relationship between these factors, hypothetical model is proposed. After confirming the accuracy of calculations by the statistical model, the model based design techniques can be extracted.
In the present study after the mentioned procedures, techniques of design, by architectural experts has been turned into understandable images for children 3 to 6 year old. Then these images are measured by children (pre-school) about the attitude of the images. In the last step, by confirming the theoretical model presented by the attitude of the child assessment, with the related techniques, we can give the design principles on the mentioned research topic.
The present article attempts to explain the descriptive research method (non-pilot) and its sub-branch, survey research, achieving impressive components on the design principles of the residential space body to promote creativity in pre-school children in Iran.
