Effect of permeate pressure on pervaporation of methyl tert-butyl ether/methanol mixtures

Ali Madandar, Toraj Mohammadi*

Introduction

Pervaporation (PV) is one of the most developing membrane technologies that has been attracted much attention for separation of azeotropic organic–organic mixtures. For optimization of this process, it is necessary to study the effect of process parameters such as temperature and permeate pressure on selectivity and partial fluxes. Although much research has been done in this area, not much attention has been paid to the influence of permeate pressure.
