The 2^nd Seminar and Workshop on New Approaches and Advanced Methodology of Research in Urbanism and Architecture

 Dear Professors, Students and Scholars

  Hereby we proudly announce that in the framework of scientific agreement between Francois Rabelais University of France and Iran University of Science and Technology, the 2^nd Seminar and Workshop on New Approaches and Advanced Methodology of Research in Urbanism and Architecture will be held on the 5^th and 6^th of October, 2015 in the Architecture and Environmental Design Faculty of IUST with the cooperation of the professors of Ecole Polytechnique de l'Université François Rabelais de Tours, Ingénierie du projet en Aménagement, Paysage et Environnement – IPAPE, UMR 7324 Cités, Territoires, Environnement et Sociétés – CITERES, France.

  This event is organized by the Engineering Analysis of Spatial Arrangement Factors Research Laboratory(EASAF), with the kind cooperation of the faculty members of Urbanism department and with the support of the Center of Excellence in Islamic Architecture. The workshop aims to discuss and assess the research proposals of PhD and master students of the faculty with emphases on the new approaches and methodologies. Along with analytic discussions of the research topics, the French scholars and professors will also give speeches regarding urban planning and its practices. The students will introduce their research in the following framework (in at most three pages and 15 PowerPoint slides):

  · Subject introduction and key concepts of the research

  · Problem statement, goals and objectives

  · Key questions and hypotheses of the research (reasoning, data and research tools)

  · Case study, data analysis and possible/expected findings

  The students each have 15 minutes to present their research in Farsi and English. All the graduate researchers in the fields of urbanism and architecture have been invited to take part in this event. This seminar can be a great opportunity for students to debate their researches and to further develop them. The best topics/presentations will be chosen and rewarded. All participants will also receive a certificate.
