Green Research Institutes (GRI) The Green Research Institutes (GRI) was established on the basis of the need for fundamental research in such scientific areas as renewable energy, energy-efficient technologies, energy conversions, energy management and environment. Established as a federal research and development facility in 1999, the GRC is administered by IUST. GRC is one of the leading pioneers of energy and environmental technologies in Iran. The Institutes is comprised of three research groups: | |
- Renewable Energy Research Group - Energy Management Research Group - Smart Grid Research Group (SGRG) Fuel Cell Research Laboratory The Fuel Cell Research Laboratory is part of the Green Research Institutes. The researchers in this lab work on both the basic science and the practical application of fuel cells. Most of their projects involve proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC’s), which are the most promising type for transportation use.
