History

  The Cement Research Center originated in 1994 when the country's development program continued to advance in the cement industry. It was felt that such an effort was necessary to bring the university and the cement industry close to their levels of responsibilities in the development process. Realizing such a necessity, Prof. Abbas Taeb, president of the foundation, established the center in 1996 to serve  as a joint venture between the university and the Ministry of Industries and Mines, and as the country's interdisciplinary leading center for research and development in the science and technology of cement material and production process and various related fields, including special and new cements, durability of cement-based materials, process and energy optimization, environmental aspects, and etc. The center has been managed by the following  IUST academy members:
