Mrs Labibzadeh Razieh will present his P.H.D thesis on  Content Improvement of the Home Design Education Based on Islamic Thought " at 17:00 P.M on 23 May 2015 under the guidance of  Prof. AbdolHamid Noghrekar Dr. MohammadAli Khanmohammadi .

Abstract

The main purpose of this Dissertation is creating a suitable relationship between the contents of Islamic thought and architectural design, and home design education. Failure of content aspect in architectural design is important according to researchers. Failure of proper relationship between content and design, and absence of a proper content, has been led to reduce the quality of students designing and absence of a responsible and answering design for different design topics.

In the meantime, residential home designing, that is the primary students design project, has not led to a comprehensive design, due to absence of emphasis on the content aspects. This absence is a result of absence of a good and proper content in home designing and emphasis on the visual aspects of the project for strengthen the innovate features. These features have not been completed in the preliminary lessons. So, students can’t provide a multi-aspect design and they can’t have a proper entry to the next designs.

In this session, students will pass only “Human/Nature/Architecture” but not other theoretical lessons such as “Theoretical Architectural Basis”, “Introduction to Contemporary Architecture” and “Islamic Architecture”. These lessons would cause an emphasis on the application of content in the planning. So, they would not learn the importance of application of content in the designing and important subjects in home designing or realizing the prominent samples, and they will act superficially and reckless to the content.

The main purpose of this research, is improving the architectural design education, based on the Islamic thought. The design of private residential home as the main topic of education is discussed. The most important object of design education is discussing about the content, as the human meaning and his relationships and needs in the Islamic viewpoint and its application in the design education and choosing the best way (priorities in the practice and function).

The method of this research is interpretation and analysis qualitative content and logical reasoning. In the first point of the research using the theoretical frame of the research and by reasoning method, and using the main and word, educational model for home designing are built. The results of the research are delivered from the conjunction of the modeling stages. Library study and observe the documents and description the religious verses and traditions and the other good religious resources led to the main parts of the results. The second parts of the research, is allocated to assess the implementation of one part of the achieved model for using content in the inside home designing (the conjunction between home spaces). For this purpose, the required basic for implementation of inside home familiar relationships, is designed as a case-report, in the design studio according to controlled trial method.

The results show that by using the content-oriented models, based on the human interactions and Islamic thought and for creating an effective relationship between theory and practice, it would be possible to elevate the architectural education generally and home design education specifically. In the other words by controlling the previous effect of content on design and the future effect of final design on the content, it would be able to create properly relationship between content and design in architectural education. Also, for improving the Islamic identity in the home design education, it is necessary to describe the Islamic basis in three content layers: Visions, Values and the Methods of evaluation and their creation. After designing, evaluation of final design for creation of required field for these three layers of content values would be done. It also became clear that Islamic definition from family and the relationships between family members, an organization of communications and limitations advices inside the home spaces would be created. This creation is called “Home Design Organization Values Model”. By this model, student designing would be improved and closer to the Islamic thought for creation of family relationships.
